The SDISs of Aquitaine (Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Lot et Garonne, Pyrénées Atlantiques) are autonomous local public establishments. They are responsible for preventing, protecting against and fighting fires (their own missions) and contribute, along with the other services and professionals involved, to protecting against and fighting other accidents, disasters and catastrophes, evacuating and preventing technological or natural risks and providing emergency assistance.
