How did Aerix Systems come into being?

We met at the start of our studies with a shared passion for technology. A number of ideas soon emerged, including the idea of orienting the propulsion of a drone to make it highly maneuverable and swift. These initial thoughts gave rise to a student project, then an entrepreneurial one with the creation of Aerix Systems in October 2020.

Since this founding year, we have recruited and tested numerous propulsion and drone concepts. Sparking the interest of numerous commercial prospects, this R&D package is leading us to a product to be launched in the first half of 2024.

Can you tell us about the specific features of your technology?

The project's main innovation is a technological one based on the omdirectionality of propulsion systems. In other words, the ability to orient the drone's thrusters along two axes. To this end, the propulsion system can tilt like a ball-and-socket joint, with no blind spots, delivering thrust without angular limits.

This innovation has given rise to a number of major capabilities, including omnidirectional movement, "instantaneous" trajectory correction, robust balance, imperturbability in the face of turbulence, high resistance to external aggression, including strong winds, modularity and, last but not least, high speed, with a top speed of over 200km/h.

How do you position yourself in relation to other drone manufacturers?

Aerix Systems does not wish to position itself as a drone manufacturer, but rather as an equipment supplier, providing thrusters, platforms and associated control laws. Our business stops one level down in the drone value chain. This enables us to distribute our uniquely capable platform to any integrator wishing to perform in their market segment.

Why are you taking part in UAV SHOW? Is it your first time?

We've been taking part in this event organized by our incubator since our inception. This enabled us to win the 2021 prize for technological innovation, highlighting an ambitious project. Two years have gone by and we're just a few months away from launching our products, an opportunity to show that our technology has been mastered and is ready to be tried out from 2024 onwards. It's also a time for us to share in the growth of Aerix Systems, with a consolidated team and a technology demonstrator undergoing its first tests. We can already say that we'll be at the next edition, this time with an outstanding product.
